Apple Shares Photoshop and Premiere Elements 2018 Software

Powered by new intelligence capabilities, Apple’s new Photoshop and Premiere Elements 2018 software editions take consumer level photo and video editing capabilities up a notch or two.

Apple puts its new computer vision and machine learning capabilities to the test in the latest update to its Photoshop and Premiere Elements software suite. Internally called ‘content intelligence,’ the new computer aided software has remarkable and useful capabilities such as detecting objects, curating large groups of photos by faces and even opening eyes in photographs.

New Open Closed Eyes Feature

Many a photographer has lamented being unable to use a photograph where one subject or more has closed eyes. Through this new feature called Open Closed Eyes, Adobe’s Photoshop Elements 2018 lets you open the closed eyes of any subject in a photograph with just a few simple clicks.

When you open this new feature, you will see a new image editing interface where you can quickly select the face of the person or other subject whose eyes are closed. Adobe’s latest update to their popular software uses content intelligence to then match that person’s face with similar faces in a photo catalog so that you can have a variety of possible replacements. You can then just click on a suitable face from that cattalo and the new Open Closed Eyes feature will blend in the opened eyes example onto your subject, with correct spacing and angle changes.

Auto Selection, Auto Curate and Revamped SlideShow Features

The new Auto Selection tool lets you make fast target selections using content intelligence technology where the software detects objects and then quickly selects a person or other subject from the photograph. This is helpful in advanced editing and also for repetitive tasks.

Auto Curate also uses content intelligence to quickly narrow down a group of photographs based on your selection so that you can find photographs of a similar image quality, subject, face, tags or other variable you have chosen. The software quickly pulls the selected photographs for you and saves you hours of time.

Another neat feature in the latest software update includes an updated Slideshow tool to filter out the best quality photos and videos with quick one-click themes and tools to add or remove photographs, music or video to any group. You can then finish your slideshow and share it via social media. These tools are available in both Premiere Elements 2018 and Photoshop Elements 2018.

49 Guided Edits

To make changing backgrounds easier and adding double exposures, watercolor effects and shape overlays - all in popular demand - Adobe’s new software has four Guided Edits, topping its total list to now 49.

Unique to Adobe Premiere 2018

One of the popular new guided edits in Adobe Premiere 2018 is Candid Moments that helps you pull out the best photographs from video footage. There are also four Guided Edits to help you create freeze frame motion titles and even add static or motion titles to your video clips. You can trim images, fix lens distortions and correct color in action or sports footage. You can also create video clips that run forward and backward continuously via a bounce back effect.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2018 is available for $99.99 and Premiere Elements 2018 for $79.99. You can also purchase both as a $149.99 bundle and if you are upgrading, the total fee is $119.99.
